There are several health registries that collect and store health information about individual dogs, submitted by owners and breeders. Participation in these registries is completely voluntary.
Although it can sometimes be confusing to understand which information is kept where, there is an ongoing effort to consolidate health data into a single registry to simplify this process.
Typically, the information submitted about a specific dog is considered “confidential” and is only accessible to the person who provided it.
It’s important to note that the absence of health information in these registries does not imply that an owner or breeder has neglected recommended health testing for their dogs. Submitting health testing data is optional, and a lack of data submission should not be viewed negatively. Various factors can influence this decision.
