In order to accomplish our Mission, we have set the following goals & initiatives:

Goals

  1. Advance Research: Support/fund studies to understand, prevent, and treat genetic and acquired health issues affecting Cavaliers, such as Mitral Valve Disease.
  2. Educate and Empower: Provide resources and tools for breeders, owners, and veterinarians to promote responsible practices and early disease detection.
  3. Promote Collaboration: Partner with veterinary institutions and canine health organizations to strengthen efforts in improving Cavalier health.
  4. Raise Health Awareness: Advocate for regular health screenings, responsible breeding, and disease prevention through public campaigns
  5. Sustainability Through Fundraising: Generate resources to support research, programs, and long-term initiatives to ensure the Alliance’s future.

 

Initiatives

Health and Research Initiatives:

  • Organize and/or promote affordable health screening clinics at events to detect common Cavalier health conditions.
  • Breed-Specific Research Grants: Establish grants to fund studies on genetic predispositions and effective treatments for Cavaliers.
  • Establish a dedicated fund to finance genetic research on disorders prevalent in Cavaliers.
  • Collaborate with the ACKCSC Health Committee to host an annual Cavalier Health Symposium featuring experts and discussions on advancements in Cavalier health care. (We fund, they organize)

Educational Outreach:

  • Develop workshops, webinars, and online resources to educate breeders and owners about critical health concerns and best practices and promote through social media and email campaigns
  • Create a community platform for sharing experiences, seeking advice, and connecting with specialists (Facebook)


Fundraising to Support Cavalier Health:

  • Provide donor opportunities through website, social media, and email updates
  • Raise funds for research and outreach through club membership and associated awareness programs
  • Invite corporate participation of interested organizations to support Cavalier Health
